Hopewell Valley Veterans Park

Honor Brick Program

Section I. Purpose

1. It is the purpose of this program to provide a lasting tribute to all veterans that have served this
country honorably in all wars and conflicts regardless of race, creed, color or religion.

2. Veterans of other countries that served as allies to the United States of America that presently
reside or previously resided in this country prior to their passing are also eligible.

Section II. Qualifications

1. Qualifications are that the individual was honorably discharged, discharged based on wounds
suffered in combat or gave the ultimate personal sacrifice in defense of this country or from
conflict as directed by the President of the United States.

2. A copy of the discharge (DD214) may be requested for confirmation or in lieu thereof some other
means of confirmation may be acceptable (i.e., service records, enrollment records, etc.).

Section III. Honor Brick Imprint

1. In order that continuity exits at the site, imprints should contain name, rank, service organization
(Army, Navy, etc.), years of service or last date of service (i.e., 1944).

2. A separate area will be reserved for Honor Bricks without personal designation, but rather to
honor more than one individual (i.e., “Thank You Veterans”; Company H, 2ndBn; VMF-263;
etc.).

Section IV. Official Designation of Inclusion

1. Semi-annually Honor Bricks will be announced as to official approval and placement in the Park.
These announcements will occur on the Memorial Day Program and the Veterans Day Program
agendas each year.

2. A map will be made in order that future reference of each individual or group so honored will be
easier to find in the Park.
